My friend had a dream to become a software engineer. She worked hard for her goal. Now, she is a software engineer in a reputed company. But, she is not one of the top 50 richest in the city.

We all dream of becoming something. Some of them even achieve the goal. But, not all of them become the richest.

We are taught at school to dream big.

Most of the people in the world live happy and satisfactory lives after achieving their goals. A childhood dream makes us a better person. The irony is that not all the people who achieve dreams turn rich. The main reason is that they only dream once and in their childhood.

If we look at my friend, a software engineer who dreamed only once in life. That dream was in her childhood. After achieving, she is happy but not rich. Dream big doesn’t mean dream only at time in life. It’s actually to dream again and again after achieving one goal.

“The dream must be chosen again and again; hard work must be done repeatedly.”

We are taught from childhood that life gets settled “if you do this or achieve that”. But, there is no such thing in life.

The rich never settle for less. After accomplishing one goal, they jump to the other one. The rich follow specific habits throughout their lives.

Habits that will change your life forever-

1. Set long term and short term goals

The best way to grow is by achieving goals. Goals make you stay on track and gives particular direction to your dream.

2. Get out of our comfort zone

Suppose you are comfortable working for 3 hours daily then, extend one more hour and try working four hours. Your brain’s storage capacity is considered virtually unlimited. You can literally learn anything if you want to!

3. Try things which you never did before

Working every day from the same desk and laptop is boring. Try working in different places and buy new gadgets. Success requires both quality and variety.

4. Visit orphan or old age homes

There is an old saying- it’s better to give than receive. As we grow, we forget to be grateful for what we have. Visiting orphans and volunteering in social services gives us peace and mental satisfaction. It’s always important to pause and take deep breadth while climbing a mountain.

5. Implement the 80/20% rule

80% of your success comes from just 20% of your work. It means 80% of what you do every day is irrelevant to your success. Identify the 20% to-do lists that contributes to 80% of your success.
